Accreditation Assistance

Independent Preparation and Survey Readiness Support

Accreditation readiness requires more than having policies and procedures on file. Your written policies, documentation, leadership practices, staff knowledge, quality systems, and daily operations must work together and demonstrate consistent implementation.

Helping Hands Training & Consulting provides independent accreditation readiness support for healthcare and ABA organizations pursuing initial accreditation, reaccreditation, or continuous readiness through Joint Commission, the Autism Commission on Quality, or the Community Health Accreditation Partner.

Our services focus on identifying readiness gaps, developing and strengthening policies and documentation, and preparing leadership and staff for the review or survey process.

Accreditation Support Aligned With Your Organization

Joint Commission Accreditation Readiness

Joint Commission accreditation evaluates whether an organization’s processes, documentation, leadership practices, and delivery of services comply with the standards applicable to its accreditation program. Accreditation is awarded following successful completion of the organization’s evaluation process, which generally includes an on-site survey conducted by Joint Commission surveyors.

Helping Hands assists organizations with preparing their policies, supporting documentation, personnel records, quality activities, leadership responsibilities, and staff for the applicable Joint Commission review process. Our role is to help your organization understand its current level of readiness, address identified gaps, and establish a structured plan for survey preparation.

Support may be appropriate for organizations pursuing applicable Joint Commission programs within behavioral health, human services, home care, or other healthcare settings that fall within our consulting scope. Final program eligibility and accreditation decisions remain with Joint Commission.

Autism Commission on Quality Accreditation Readiness

The Autism Commission on Quality, commonly referred to as ACQ, provides an accreditation program specifically for organizations delivering Applied Behavior Analysis services to individuals with autism.

ACQ’s published accreditation framework addresses business operations, human resources, financial operations, risk management, clinical personnel, clinical operations, patient protections, quality assurance, and ethics. Its review process may include organizational documentation, leadership interviews, clinical observations, patient and staff feedback, and other evidence of implementation.

Helping Hands supports ABA organizations with the operational, administrative, compliance, policy, and documentation components of ACQ accreditation readiness. We work with organizational leadership to identify gaps, organize required evidence, strengthen internal processes, and prepare staff for the accreditation review.

Clinical policies, clinical protocols, treatment practices, and other matters requiring professional clinical judgment must remain under the direction and approval of the organization’s qualified clinical leadership. Helping Hands does not replace the role or judgment of a BCBA, clinical director, or other appropriately credentialed professional.

CHAP Accreditation Readiness

Community Health Accreditation Partner, commonly known as CHAP, is an independent accrediting organization serving home- and community-based healthcare organizations. Its accreditation programs include home health, home care, hospice, and other eligible community-based services.

Helping Hands assists eligible organizations with preparing for the applicable CHAP accreditation process by reviewing policies, documentation, staff files, operational systems, quality activities, and evidence of implementation. We also help leadership and staff understand what may be expected during the on-site survey and how to organize the materials needed to demonstrate readiness.

Final eligibility, survey findings, corrective-action requirements, and accreditation decisions are determined solely by CHAP.

Our Services

Gap Analysis & Readiness Assessments

Gap Analysis & Readiness Assessments

Gap Analysis & Readiness Assessments

A readiness assessment establishes where your organization currently stands before you submit an application, schedule a survey, or move further into the accreditation process.

Helping Hands reviews your existing policies, procedures, forms, records, administrative systems, and operating practices against the requirements applicable to the accreditation program you are pursuing. The review is designed to identify areas that appear fully developed, areas that require additional evidence or implementation, and areas that may need significant correction before the organization is survey-ready.

Policy & Documentation Development

Gap Analysis & Readiness Assessments

Gap Analysis & Readiness Assessments

Helping Hands reviews existing policies and documentation to identify missing, outdated, incomplete, or conflicting information. We then assist with developing or revising policies and procedures based on the organization’s services, staffing model, operating structure, accreditation pathway, and actual workflows.

Mock Audits & Survey Preparation

Gap Analysis & Readiness Assessments

Mock Audits & Survey Preparation

Mock survey preparation may include simulated document requests, leadership interviews, staff interviews, personnel-file sampling, client or patient record sampling, policy implementation review, quality-program discussion, evidence review, and walkthroughs of operational processes. The exact activities are adjusted to the accreditation program and the organization’s scope.

Who We Support

Helping Hands provides accreditation readiness support to eligible healthcare and human-service organizations, including ABA provider organizations, behavioral health providers, home health agencies, home care organizations, therapy practices, and other provider organizations pursuing an accreditation program within our consulting scope.

The appropriate accrediting organization cannot be determined by organization name alone. Services provided, patient population, location, operating history, licensing status, payer requirements, and accreditation objectives must all be considered.
