Once you register for a practical skills class, our office will provide you with an access link to the online training component. You must complete the online portion of the training before the class date. Our office will contact the students who have not completed the online component 2 business days before the class date to confirm anticipated completion or to reschedule their practical skills class. If you encounter any technical difficulties, you can contact us via phone or email.
A blended learning class allows you to complete the online training at your own pace and then attend a practical skills session at our training site. On the other hand, classroom-based training is entirely in-person and instructor-led. It consists of video lessons, video-guided and instructor-guided demonstrations, hands-on CPR and first aid techniques practice, constructive feedback, and Q&A time.
If you have already completed the online portion of the training without us, register for our practical skills class and let us know by phone or email.
There are many reasons, such as adult CPR techniques being performed for children who have reached puberty, and you never know when you will be in a situation where knowing adult CPR may save a life.
You will likely use first aid techniques more often than CPR and AED techniques. First aid includes, but is not limited to, burns, choking, bleeding, allergic reactions, strokes, and seizures; all of these injuries and illnesses can occur at any moment, and knowing how to properly clean and dress a wound can prevent infections, or knowing how to stabilize a broken bone can prevent further injury.
A challenge class is assessment-based, and it is for students who want to have certification without taking an initial or renewal training class. The student must complete a written exam and successfully complete the performance evaluations they are challenged for. If you choose to complete a challenge class, you may schedule an appointment on the "Registration" page. The estimated class time varies by certification type and time needed to complete the written exam.
